JOJO, my little treasure, is a 7-and-a-half-year-old black and white cat.

At the time, many artist friends told me that it was particularly difficult to paint someone / or an animal that you know deeply. Not because of the technique or the resemblance, but because you can never fully convey the love you feel.

Despite this, I wanted to take on this challenge.

When we adopted him, he was only 6 months old. He had these immense, curious eyes, still open to the world. I remember his foster family warning us that he was wary of humans and that it would take him a few days to adapt. Yet, as soon as he arrived home, he snuggled up against me.

We often believe that we choose our pets, but I have the impression that they choose us.

For over 7 years, JOJO has been with us during a very important period of our lives in France. He has followed us through three homes, from the city apartment to our move to the countryside.

Today, he has become a true country cat.
He spends his days playing with his little brother, a golden retriever, napping in the sun on the sofa, hunting small insects in the garden, and meeting his cat friends in the neighborhood.

We all have different ways of expressing love; painting is one of mine. I simply hope that he will live a long, happy, and healthy life.
